How It Works

How AI Form Lead Scoring Works

  1. Step 1

    Push the submission

Send form data to LeadUp with a webhook from WordPress, a custom site, or any other tool that supports them.

    Webhook setup
  2. Step 2

AI scores it for that client

Each submission gets a 1 to 5 star rating, a good or poor verdict, and a short reason, based on the client context you wrote.

    Client context
  3. Step 3

    See what brings good leads

Compare lead quality by form, campaign, landing page, and search term instead of counting raw submissions.

    Analytics
  4. Step 4

    Tell Google Ads what counts

Send conversions with proxy values, or only the leads that pass your filters, with enhanced conversions for better matching.

Client Context

AI Lead Qualification Based on What Each Client Wants

Spam filters can tell you a submission is real. They can't tell you it's a case your client would take. Give the AI that context, and it judges each lead the way the client would.

Evaluation context

Northside Legal

Personal injury law firm in Phoenix, AZ.

Good leads

  • Injured in an accident
  • Another party was at fault
  • Located in Arizona

Disqualify

  • The lead was at fault
  • No injuries
  • Property damage only

Same form, valid contact details on both. Only the context tells them apart.

    Poor lead

I ran a red light and hit another car. It was my fault and nobody got hurt, but can you help me with the repair bill?

Says they caused the accident and no one was injured, so there is no injury claim for this firm.

    Good lead

I was rear-ended in Tempe last week and I'm being treated for a neck injury. The other driver's insurance keeps calling me.

Injured in Arizona by another driver and already in treatment, which is the case this firm takes.

Set per client
An injury firm and a roofer define a good lead differently. Each client gets their own context.
Start from their website
Paste the client's URL to draft the context, then edit it. Up to 1,500 characters.
Contact details count too
Invalid email or phone formats lower the rating, even when the message sounds promising.

Enhanced Conversions

Enhanced Conversions for Leads When the Click ID Goes Missing

A lead you can't connect back to an ad is a lead Google Ads can't learn from. Enhanced conversions add a second way to match, using the email and phone the person already gave you.

FAQ

Form Lead Scoring Questions, Answered

Webhook requirements, how the AI scores leads, and what you can change after a conversion reaches Google Ads.

What is form lead scoring?

Form lead scoring rates each website form submission by how likely it is to be a real opportunity, so you can separate good leads from spam and poor fits. LeadUp uses AI to compare every submission with the criteria you set for that client, then gives it a rating from 1 to 5 stars, a good or poor verdict, and a short explanation.

How do I track form submissions as conversions in Google Ads?

Send each submission to LeadUp by webhook with its click ID (gclid, gbraid, or wbraid) and contact details, connect the client's Google Ads account, and turn on conversion tracking. LeadUp creates the conversion action, then uploads each lead that passes your filters with the value you configured.

How do I keep spam and poor leads out of my Google Ads conversions?

Choose to count only good leads and set a minimum star rating. Spam and irrelevant submissions tend to rate poorly because they do not match the client's criteria, and invalid contact details lower the rating further. Anything that does not pass stays in LeadUp, and you can still push a lead manually if you disagree.

Does it work with WordPress forms and other form tools?

It works with any tool that can send an HTTP POST with a JSON body and a custom X-LeadUp-Secret header to the webhook URL LeadUp gives you for that form. That covers custom sites, many WordPress form plugins, and automation tools like Zapier and Make. If your form tool cannot set a custom header or send JSON, you can route submissions through an automation tool or a small script.

Which fields should I include in the webhook?

Send the form fields you want the AI to evaluate, including email and phone when you collect them. To use conversion tracking and analytics, also include gclid, gbraid, or wbraid, UTM parameters such as utm_campaign and utm_term, and landing_page_url or page_url.

How does the AI know what a good lead is for each client?

You write an evaluation context of up to 1,500 characters describing the client, what qualifies a lead, and what disqualifies one. You can also enter the client's website to draft it from their public content, then edit it. The AI focuses on whether the submitted details match that context, and email and phone validity also affect the result.

How are Google Ads conversion values calculated?

The value is your base value plus the star rating multiplied by your value per star, set separately for good and poor leads. With a $50 base and $10 per star, a 4-star good lead is worth $90. These are relative proxy values rather than revenue, and you can change the value of an active conversion after it is sent.

Can I undo a conversion after it is sent?

Yes, with a few Google Ads limits. You can retract an active conversion or restate its value from the submission page. Google may need up to about a day to process a new conversion before accepting changes. Retraction is permanent, so that lead cannot be pushed again as the same conversion, and conversions attributed only through a wbraid cannot be retracted.

What are enhanced conversions for leads and why do they matter?

Enhanced conversions add hashed first-party data, such as an email address or phone number, to a conversion so Google can match it to the signed-in account that engaged with the ad. This helps when a click ID is missing, which gives bidding and reporting more complete conversion data. Match rates depend on your data and on Google.

What do I need to use enhanced conversions?

Accept the customer data terms and turn on enhanced conversions for leads in Google Ads, and make sure your consent setup allows ad_user_data. To use the guided setup, your Google account also needs Edit access to the Tag Manager container. LeadUp saves its changes to an unpublished workspace, and you review, test, and publish them yourself.

Do I have to send conversions to Google Ads?

No. Conversion tracking is off until you turn it on for a client, so you can use the AI scoring and analytics on their own.

How much does form lead scoring cost?

Forms analysis is usage based at $0.05 per 1,000 tokens, on top of the $49.99 monthly platform subscription. A submission typically uses 800 to 1,600 tokens, which is about $0.04 to $0.08 per form.

Stop counting every form as a lead

Connect a form with a webhook, tell the AI what a good lead looks like for that client, and choose what reaches Google Ads.
